There once was a man from Nantucket
Who wouldn't spit wine in a bucket
He thought it was fine
To drink all his wine
But after 6 glasses, upchucked it.

Wines I Love of Great Value

  • Charles & Charles Rosé 2013
One of the USA's best. Syrah dominates. Their 2011 rated 90 Points.
  • Michael David Winery Freakshow 2011 Cabernet at $19.99
This wine is rated 92 Points and has the Freakiest label in the wine business. Elegant, great balance with black currant, charred oak, vanilla and cassis. Get out your microscope and check out the images on this label!
  • A to Z Pinot Noir
Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2013 Elegant and complex aromas of bing cherries, cranberries, red currants, raspberries and strawberries, a combination of wild flowers and fresh forest berries that epitomize Oregon Pinot Noir. May become more complex in 5-10 years.
  • Charles & Charles (a dry rosé) $10.99
88 Points Wine Spectator ..."Light and spicy, with a clove note weaving through the beguiling raspberry and pear flavors, finishing dry. Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Grenache blend." My favorite domestic rosé. 2012 may be sold out. Watch for the 2013 soon.
  • Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 $119.00
93 Points Wine Spectator..."tiers of dark berry fruit, plum, currant and blackberry flavors, with oak shadings and hints of anise, cigar box and cedar. The finish is long." One of the finest wines of Napa Valley. Congratulations to the former Ambassador to Austria, Kathryn Hall.
